13m of Ericsson's contract would get a lot more than that feeble draft pick as a sweetner.

I don't see Helm having much positive value even with retention. Maybe he brings back a late pick, but that is about it. More likely Detroit will have to add a pick or retain closer to 50% of the deal (at least 33%).
