I don’t think he is the worst coach, but what he has to work with doesn’t exactly help with the results.

The team doesn't have a win yet. You sure about that?

A team that is icing very few if any puck moving dmen, only having guys like Hertl, Duclair, and Eklund being healthy enough to lead their forward core, and having all 3 of their goalies getting absolutely shelled each night is a recipe for a team that will have the best odds at the 1st overall pick. Which is exactly what the Sharks want and need. The Sharks are in the thick of their rebuild, and Quinn is coaching a team that probably has orders to suck enough to have the best lottery odds. They are meant to be bad.

If I am in Quinn’s position, and I know my team is going to suck, I am going to try my best to follow the path that the Yotes have taken, where they compete every game, despite the final results, but still suck enough that they get a high draft pick. Do changes need to be made, sure, but claiming that Quinn is worst coach in NHL history is rather extreme don’t you think? Besides, his term as coach of the Sharks will very likely be finished when the Sharks decide to exit their rebuild, so ultimately, does it really matter?

He's lost the room and destroying the youth on that team. He's setting them back farther.

He also coached NYR. This isn't the only example.

I used to think it was Jeff Blashill but David Quinn is changing my mind. Wasn't Quinn supposed to be "great with young players"? 🤔
