I don't see why SJS does that. Not sure how that's attractive for them. Rebuilding or trying to compete.

Keep dreaming.</div></div>

A new owner that would pay out the rest of EK65's contract if we were to trade for him.</div></div>
Is the family taking over? I'm not a Sens fan btw, I actually don't know the full details on the previous owner other than he was not well liked.

Couture part two
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>You think teams are paying a premium for what Couture did, for the Sharks, 4+ years ago?
Olofsson: 65gp 18G 23A 41P PPG: .64 27 Y/o
Couture: 67gp 23G 26A 49P PPG: .73 33 Y/o
Couture isnt going to bring in a haul. Olofsson is undervalued and should get more than a 2nd or a 3rd, and Couture should get slightly more than that, which is a little more than whats offered here, maybe Vegas's first instead of Florida</div></div>
How is Olof's 3 zone play? Couture pretty much has to shutdown the opposing top line every night.

I actually agree with you on his value, but that LD side is absolutely awful without him and he's easily the second biggest fan favorite behind Hertl.

This trade aside, I don't think Tkachuk is worth 10m tbh despite the insanity this year. I don't think I've ever seen a forward fit that well in a Sutter system.

If you take a step back and look at the summer as whole with Kane, the amount of stories/issues that came about are almost unreal. It looks staged or fake because it's just one after another.

Competing Sharks not what I want because Bedard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>A big problem is having an 11.5M d man, an 8M d man, and a 7 d man, with none of them being high end players anymore.</div></div>
IMO the biggest issue is Vlasic. Karlsson and Burns cap hits are acceptable if you have cheaper LD, which they do. Part of the issue is BB and EK are being asked to play more minutes in the defensive zone which is not what their skillset is best at. Again, the coaching on this team is a major factor.

I know I'm biased, but I think this team is better than their record (playoff bubble, not contenders). I think a real problem is Boughner's system. Also, Vlasic falling off into an abyss which might be related to Boughner's system.
Again, I have no idea what they're doing.

You're not even focusing on the bad stuff yet. Meier extension and Kane's potential cap hit issue is the real problem.
I disagree though, they can offset with ELCs. How "effective" it will be in being competitive I do not know. I have major doubts.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>The problem is they can’t get rid of the big time contracts…other than buyouts i guess. The players also are good enough to make sure the sharks don’t bottom out, but aren’t good enough to win. A vicious cycle to be stuck in. They shouldn’t have signed Hertl though. They should have traded couture when they had a chance. This team is just so stuck.</div></div>
They're banking on the next set of kids on ELCs to offset the contract impacts.
I agree though, even as a Sharks fan I can't tell what we're doing.
