Are the Sharks a placeholder team?
I don't see them being interested.

Happy for him. As with any situation, things can change when the money is real and the situation is good.

Skjei would be a decent alternative.

OEL for a couple year at 3 maybe.

Dillon at $4 is rough. Would rather add a puck mover with Carlo, Peeke, Spoon already in the mix. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't think any team would be interested in giving up a 3rd for him. He's a 4th liner with a very limited ceiling

I think the playoffs are going to dictate if the Bruins retain DeBrusk @ something like 4X5. If he has a solid post season ‘yes’ if no they may look at someone else to fill that 2LW. Very streaky player.

I think he’s gone either way unless Boston just strikes out on everybody in their pre free agency assessment. They sign him now, they lose leverage in free agency OR with Ullmark.

He’s actually an interesting watch. He has speed and toughness. He does a lot of interesting things on the ice except he always seems to fumble it as he starts to shoot. It will have to be Beecher OR Lauko. You can’t have two of them on the ice at the same time

My guess is a 5th at best at this stage. He’s useful, but not undifferentiated from a lot of AHL options

Yeah, not trying to disparage him but Sharks have Justin Bailey who plays a similar style and I can't imagine he'd get anywhere close to a 3rd

The irony is we talk about picks. A 3rd rounder is basically a throwaway pick. If you believe the player has talent, it’s a worthwhile risk. I don’t think a team would trade a 3rd round pick. Not because of its value, but because you can sign an Anthony Richard without giving up anything

Exactly why I thought it was so dumb that people made such a big deal about SJ sending 2 3rds with Hertl. Especially considering those are 2025 and 2027 3rds lol

TBH I think it's a good thing we're not getting Hanifin at 8x$7m+. Lohrei will be a mainstay in the top 4 very soon and Lindholm is still a good top 4 D despite having a down year and could bounce back next season. He was playing fantastically well last year.
