Also this is terrible for the Sharks.

Emberson was fantastic when healthy. Pohlkamp is a very solid RHD prospect + Blackwood and a 2nd makes no sense. I like Rodrigues but they could easily get a player of his quality (or much better) in Free Agency.

I'd consider Blackwood with no retention 1 for 1 for him, anything more is crazy

Why would San Jose trade a solid D prospect, an nhl defenseman, a goalie half retain (can’t do anyway) and a top 50 pick for a depth forward and a maybe middle six player? Add knight and the sharks might consider

I don't see any of the players being critical once the Sharks are competitive again. I'm not high on anyone here.
The pick, maybe? Whomever they grab.

Emberson is a great depth piece who grew a lot over the year, and yes the 2nd alone is very valuable, but I think Pohlkamp is one of the most underrated prospects in the Sharks system. Defensive prospects don't get a whole lot of recognition if they don't produce at a lot, but he's solid offensively and very good defensively. Had a great year at Bemidji and will be on a much bigger stage at Denver next year.

You need guys like him in your system, as well as Cardwell on the forward side. Guys who don't project to by top six/top pairing guys, but are more the Justin Braun's / Barclay Goodrows of the hockey world.

I wouldn't mind parting with some of these pieces (certainly not all) if they were getting back a top 6 forward but not Rodrigues. It's just a net loss for the sharks here

For the record, this trade wasn't interesting to me at all.
I don't see how it helps the Sharks.
I don't see the Sharks doing it.
I'm sick of seeing the retention stuff after the latest fiasco.

Reinhart will probaby get 11M with 92 points , 55 of those goals!
There is ZERO chance he will take under 10!
