Description
I really like Duclairs game, and he seems to have taken on a mentoring role for guys like Eklund & Bordeleau, so he stays. Anyone else expiring (Barabonov, Kahkonnen, Hoffman, Labanc) are moved if possible. Hoffman & Labanc are probably too expensive to move.

Money available for UFAs if you want them, but should prioritize playing time for young guys. Definitely don't sign any deals that extend a player past age 33-35.

If Nylander/Reinhart/Teravaiinen are available, maybe you take a shot at them. Between Hertl, Smith, Bystedt, and hopefully Celebrini they're pretty well covered on center prospects for a while.

Taxi squad are guys competing for opening night roster spots alongside Bourgault, Lavoie, Bordeleau, Gushchin, etc.

Some defenseman needs to get waived, but without signing a UFA you need Vlasic to hit the cap floor. Maybe one of Thrun/Mukhamadulin don't make the team out of camp and start in the AHL.

Between their current roster and prospects Detroit doesn't have room for another LHD. I really don't think you can get a 1st for Ferraro. MAYBE you can get a 1st from a contender with 50% retention at the TDL.

If I'm the Sharks, Is probably take a 2nd. They really are overloaded with LD at the moment, and for as great of a guy Ferarro is I don't think he has the ceiling to be a top pairing guy.

He is a good defensive defenseman and while every team needs a couple of players like that but they are usually in the 3rd pair or the 2nd pair with an offensive partner that is lacking defensively.

Detroit has Walman, Chariot, Ghost and Maatta on their current roster. Then they have Edvinsson and Johansson who are about ready to make the jump and Wallinder who isn't that far behind them/.

Fair enough, I think there are probably a couple of other teams looking for a guy like him and willing to give a 2nd.

Are you sure you want to turn it over to Thrun, I mean he has upside, but to me, it would be dangerous to have all kids on LD?
