Leafs need size/physicality and they more puck moving ability from their D. Ferraro doesn't seem to be either of those things. So no thank you on trading a first for him.

Ferraro isn’t 6’5 230, but I wouldn’t call him undersized. He’s a pretty rugged defenseman as well. You’ll get some hit and grit and some block shots.

But he’s also a huge locker room guys as well, major vibes, I think he’d be a great fit there.

But I think they will and should go for Tanev first

It might even take more than a first to get him, mainly because it’s one of these scenarios where he means more to the organization than his actual value. It will take an over pay for San Jose to part with one of their key locker room guys and leaders. He’s captain material on that team.
