Description
Dallas has the desire to improve the backup goalie, veteran forward depth, and to add a retained defenseman in this scenario.

Top defensive prospect Bichsel is the prize for Washington. The first is a late first.

How far off is this?
If Dallas adds, what do they add?

I think this is too confusing for the sake of it. Make it Lindgren+Dowd for DAL 1st+Bischel. Maybe Caps throw in a more.

Depends a lot on how Caps management feels about Bischel, he seems to be putting up good but not great D+2 numbers but have no opinion on him personally beyond that.

Overall though I would say Fehervary probably doesn't make sense for the Caps to move in a package like this, where they're trading him for a guy that theoretically could play his role in a year or two. He's only 24 and just re-signed on a great deal, I think the only reason they would move him is in a package for an elite forward.

Dowd + Lindgren for the 24 1st + a little extra + salary filler is something I think definitely would work though

Don’t you think a goalie should go back the other way? There needs to be some sort of cap balancing.

I agree that Fehervary and Bichsel will probably be similar players. Bichsel still needs to adjust to the smaller ice of the US.

Would you say that Dowd + Lindgren for a 24 1st + Wedgewood + Dadonov a fair trade?

That's fine, throw in Wedgewood.
