Description

Why Columbus makes this trade: They've already decided Elvis is no longer part of their future. They effectively get a 2nd, 4th, and 6th for him. Not bad for a goalie with a big cap hit and term.

Why Minnesota makes this trade: The Wild are a bubble team and haven't gotten consistent goaltending all season. Elvis is statistically better than both MAF and Gustavsson this season while playing for a worse team. Minnesota either ends up with Elvis and Gustavsson as a tandem, or can trade Gus since many teams are desperately looking for a goalie.

Why Colorado makes this trade: The Avs needs a backup they can trust with more than 8 starts through 42 games. Admittedly, MAF has been pretty inconsistent this season, and his bad stretches have been awful, but he should (theoretically) be better than Prosvetov. Colorado bets on Flower putting up better numbers behind a much better team. Plus, it would be cool to see MAF pass Roy's wins record in an Avs uniform.

Flower won't waive. He's stated that he's tired of moving. He'll probably just retire after this season. He's also just not good anymore

It also makes no sense for Minnisota to target Merz when they have Gus and Wallstedt

Wild are capped strapped this summer, I seriously doubt they can afford Merzlikins $5,400,000 for the next 3 years or so.

And i don't see MAF waiving for Colorado.

And sorry this isn't a 3-way, You;re acquiring a player and then just flipping him to another team. That's not a 3-way.
