Description
Would also take kuzmenko in the Canucks trade instead of Garland if that would be preferable

Anyway the idea is to just move on from a few pieces that don't fit in long term and replace them with new options that could fit better (maybe)
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. 2025 3rd round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Doesn't need to be NJ, just one of the teams looking for a goalie. Offer them a cheap bet who has shown he can be good as recently as last year
NJD
  1. Samsonov, Ilya ($1,775,000 retained)
2.
VAN
  1. Bertuzzi, Tyler ($2,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Take on the Garland deal that Vancouver has been trying to move forever now and offer them a player who has performed as well this year, who has a higher upside, costs half as much, and whose contract is 1/3rd as long

Get a 3rd rounder who looks good as compensation.
Draft his younger brother Henry in 2025 as well
3.
TOR
  1. Broberg, Philip
Additional Details:
Seems like a deal that just kind of makes sense right now

Nucks pass

Gonna be honest I don't think they do. It's as much a hockey trade as it is a cap dump for them. Given what they've been trying recently it makes a ton of sense both now and going forwards

Canucks pass. Garland despite not having the best point total has been one of our best forwards this season, and is producing better than Bertuzzi with worse linemates. He’s a big reason our 3rd line has one of the best xGF% in the league

And Brzustewicz looks like a steal at this point, leading the OHL in points as a dman. If we move him it’ll be for a better player than Bertuzzi

Fair but garland has been playing rly well this season and hunter brzihjnwqo8yfhd seems to be an absolute steal from last draft that the nucks have needed to replenish their blue line prospect depth. Just dont see it personally but it could happen

As part of a package? Maybe. But as the key piece? Certainly not.
As I said if you aren't comfortable with Garland being the guy moved, I'd do Kuzmenko too
