1. Seeler for a 3rd and 5th is good value, with the ability to bring him back as a UFA in 24-25. His value is never going to be higher.
2. Hart for Chyrchrun and Forsberg. Hart is very good and I would say a top 12 goalie in the league, Forsberg is a capable vet backup, but more like a dump whicvh bridges the gap between the two players. Chyrchrun is a good combo of offense/defense and a real rock in the top 4 to help develop York while Sanheim develops/pairs Drysdale.
3. Samsonov is still a poor bet and a cap dump that cost a 3rd and a bit more to someone with cap space. So that makes Walker worth a 3rd and Hirvonen and a tad more. walker at 2.8mil is a UFA and we could bring him back as a UFA, and like Seeler, his value has never been higher. Maybe its not enough, maybe another 5th, maybe a 4th from TOR.
4. Staal is a good vet who played 18 mins a game, and a solid 7th for a team needing depth on defense for playoffs. Two 6ths is nothing
5. Laughton for 2nd, 5th and young LW foote. Maybe not enough for PHI, but I like the additions of Hirvonen and Foote (to go with Desnoyers) at LW, and one breaks through in 24-25.Maybe not enough for PHI?
6, Krebs for Ginning and 5th. Krebs had a great year in 22-23, but has just 8 pts in 44games this year, but hes 22, good hands and wheels and plays center, a PHI organizational weakness. Ginning, a 2nd rounder is a stay at home LD who has been very good since his arrival and closer to BUF needs. Only move Ginning because of the depth at LW and BUF only moves Krebs because their depth at C.
7. LD Graves and a 3rd for Atkinson at 50%. Graves is a inexpensive solid LD, only 28 and signed long term at 4.5mil, plays physical and good team guy. The 3rd should be good. Atkinson is still a 40+ pt player and at under 3mil a bargain, but really this is about Graves, solid vet and mentoring either LD Andrae, RD Bonk, or someone we draft this year. We have wings and York, Chychrun, Sanheim, Zamula can all go LD/RD.
8. Risto is limited, but since radically changing his game, is a a nice physical top 4 guy, who can still carry puck, but signed long term which helps CGY, along with 1st and 3rd for UFA Lindholm and meh prospect Kuznetsov. Lindholm is a solid two way 2C, and his addition enables frost to go to 3C and Cates to 3LW, making a very deep and responisble two way top 9. Lindholm would have to have a resign in place for 7-8mil for 6-7 yrs.
So really its 3 good assets: Hart, Laughton, the 1st for alot of young guys, 3 solid mid-aged vets, and lots of picks (11 each of next 3 yrs, 5 in first 3 rounds next 3 yrs), all are assets and none of too high priced or unmoveable.
Ideally the forward lines above are solid, with alot of youth, awaiting Mitchkov, Barkey, etc... and the defense is similar, solid vets with kids. And the taxi squad is the probable guys pushing for a spot next year. So a Tuomaala/Hirvonen/Desnoyers/Foote could push out a Brink, Poehling, Deslauriers and a Andrae, Bonk or Helge could push out Zamula, etc....
So its lots of young guys, lots of picks (all assets) to fix/improve or trade for what isn;t working, with more high level prospects still on the way.
Samsonov is a 3.5mil cap dump, that cost the 2024 3rd to dump to acquire solid defensive dman playing well for a 5th, a 3rd THREE drafts away and solid midlevel prospect Hirvonen
Last I heard even if you guys sell you aren’t selling Walker with that being said leafs accept this
They will sell. Even though they are massively overachieving, they cant go for it this year, especially with Walker and Seeler being worth far more than they should be.

I do agree they should sell even if they’re in a playoff spot when it comes to the deadline, commit to the rebuild it isn’t over yet lol
