idk if the Flyers want to give up any picks...my guess would be the Flyers give up an AHLer who could use a fresh start like Wade Allison at most for EJ...sadly i think the 4th rd pk is too steep a price for him. Plus Flyers benefit from having guys like Attard and Ginning getting reps at the NHL level. Both played pretty well as a pair last night against a good FLA Panthers team.

Ceci <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PurpleHippo</b></div><div>Risto isn't getting a first, if he is he's being retained 50% and you're not getting Foegele with it.</div></div>
With the Term on Ristos deal...he can be flipped for assets down the road he just isnt a rental...he is absolutely worth a 1st in his own right...and Ceci as a cap dump adds to the value...this deal honestly probably favors EDM too much and Philly would probably prefer to hold on to Risto for his value now up until there is only 1 year left on his deal....and then obtain the assets and trade him as a rental...as you can see...at the trade deadline, players (especially Righ-Handed Defensemen) command a pretty significant return...i.e Tanev, Walker, etc.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YeahRighttt</b></div><div>Ah great. We have traded on Avs fans for Flyers fans trying to pawn “Ryjo” off on the Hawks.
The answer is still the same: pay or find another team.</div></div>
Are the Hawks giving a good faith effort to compete and put out the best possible roster under the circumstances? I think not. Ryjo could earn a spot on that roster until the end of this season at the very least...His buried cap hit is only 2.85 if he doesnt make the team next season...and then his deal expires.
I honestly dont care if Ryjo stays in the Flyers organization. I chose the Hawks for Ryjo bc i think the Hawks firesaling and not trying to find any sort of viable replacements for the remaining games this season is shameful. The league should investigate them for tanking for not picking up players like Ryan Johansen who has 13 Goals this year and has a proven track record in the NHL and the Hawks have the cap space.

The math maths. I know because I did it. You either (1) did not do the math, or (2) made a mistake.
EDM takes on 5.1M..... PHI takes on 5M....that surely is an amount that any team can accommodate after 60+ games played. That is like an additional 20K cap hit because the entire 100k difference (which is minute) will not be the entire amount.
The first rd pick is compensation not just for Risto....it is for the cap dump of Ceci. Foegele is a throw in to make the cap work. So, again did you just not know the salaries here or what? And how did you think I was unaware of the cap situation, which i clearly accounted for because I threw in the 6th rd pick for EDM retaining the salary on Foegele, which is around market value....4th and 5th rd picks have been given for teams retaining around 1.5-2M, this is a bit less and EDM gets a player with term on the contract so...idk idk see how this would be a miss for EDM.

Any team that gets Sean Walker is in no way a loser. That being said, as a Flyers fan I am stoked with the return and I am excited to see if Johansen can salvage his NHL career in Philadelphia.

Chychrun Flyers outbid Devils
Chychrun is only 25 years old. He fits the timeline for a rebuild. Both 1st Rd picks this year will likely be high, so I personally have no problem with moving two players who I think Chychrun is better than and a first round pick for a guy who will be part of the solution moving forward in Chychrun. Plus he has the Philly connection we all love so well. :)

Too much amount of monetary retention for Philadelphia for too high of length in term. Risto has 4 years remaining, Laughton has 3 years remaining. No team retains salary for that length of time. It is absurd. Grade: F.

You have to sell
Every deal highly favors the Flyers. Bad trades. Also, Konecny and Seeler aren't going anywhere. Risto and Atkinson are going to be hard to move. I don't think Carolina has the Cap to acquire Cam's nearly 3M contract for 2 more years (thanks for making me do math). Just poorly thought out and poorly executed trades. D-.

Philadelphia Flyers signed Owen Tippett (8 Years / $6,200,000 AAV)
Best part of this deal is that Tippett only has a Modified No-Trade Clause for the 4 middle years of this 8-year contract. Flexibility for the Flyers has substantial value. Tippett could have got more money in negotiating those M—NTCs.

Enough with the 7D
The Flyers decline all of those trades.....the Flyers aren't moving Atkinson right now. He might be moved in the off-season, but the guy is producing offensively and is doing a great job on the forecheck. For now, Philly needs him and this team is a playoff team...we arent just going to sell players and tank the season...any significant moves will likely be made in the offseason...I doubt Seeler or Walker are even moved bc teams need depth to keep players fresh...Also Hart isn't going anywhere. Both him and Ersson are under contract and the Flyers will retain each of their rights after their respective contracts end...needless to say the Goalie situation is as good as it could possibly be in Philadelphia...why **** that up?

I never said "giving away" I said "getting rid of." Words matter. I wasn't commenting on your assessment of value. I saw no point in commenting on the value because IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
The Flyers will not be trading away TK. Period. The Flyers need offensive help if anything. They will not be looking to mess with their defense, everything they are doing seems to be working.

The main point is this.
NHL GMs don’t “look a gift horse in the mouth.”
The fact is the Flyers aren’t tanking, they are trying to build a winning culture.
This is a deal where the Flyers are getting the clear better end of the bargain, they are getting the better player and this better player will play and he will likely retain his value even after a 1,2, or even 3 seasons. At which time the Flyers will recover the 3rd rd pk they spent to get him (maybe it’s a lower pick but still recovering something lessens the cost). Hence why this deal is a no-brained which the Leafs would never offer in the first place.

I think Kampf is the better player over Allison, reasonable cap hit for only a 3rd rd pk...and the Leafs clearly value Kampf (its the Leafs who wouldnt even consider this trade)...the Leafs just signed him to a 4 year deal on June 28.
From the Flyers perspective...I'd probably do this, Kampf makes the team a bit more palatable in a down year so that maybe some fans can stomach watching a game or two and the prices of a 3rd and only 2.4M/4 yrs are both reasonable prices.
Also, Kampf could probably fetch a DP or a prospect even after playing for a year or two, so no harm no foul.

The Flyers rejected a first rd pk and a 2nd for Laughton, but it was from St. Louis which would have nixed the Flyers from moving Kevin Hayes. It was a superior decision to hold Laughton (who is under contract for three more years) because Laughton's value will likely remain relatively the same.
I doubt there were any other teams that offered a 1st plus a 2nd for Laughton.
