I'll take 3 years of Kempe at $5.5M over 1 year of "affordable" Nylander and a ridiculously overpriced extension.

Moore for Jarnkrok is a loss for the Kings, and with Doughty, Roy, Clarke, and Spence, the Kings have no need for Timmons.

Kings pass.

Kempe is more valuable to us than one season of Nylander would be and Moore is MUCH more valuable to us than Jarnkrok. No, thanks.

I don't know who you think Morgan Rielly is, but this is absurd.

Why would Nylander be overpriced? He's 22nd in goals over the past 3 seasons and 23rd in points. League wide. Guess how much everyone else in that range makes?

That's the aim of 90% of people on here and then they all call us huge homers for saying no, these are not in the Leafs best interest.

Compared to Kempe at $5.5M for 3 more years, he's significantly overpriced. You can call Kempe a bargain if you'd prefer, but there's no way the Kings would give up the former for the latter.

If you want to sign Nylander to a 2 year extension and retain for 3 years to make the trade cap neutral, then I'm sure the Kings would consider it. Otherwise, there's no way they're trading their first 40-goal scorer in 30 years.

I'm sure Vegas will trade the Conn Smythe Trophy winner Marchessault for Rielly and some plugs. But at least you added a 3rd. 🤭

Rielly isn't waiving his NMC anyway.

How nice of you to also take McNabb and Whitecloud off Vegas' hands. 😁

You should add Eichel to make it fair. Hehe

Kempe is a good player for sure but he's likely never going to match what he did this past season. Scoring on 16+% of his shots is not sustainable. Nylander will continue to score at the pace he's been on though. Likely would score more if he was the guy on a squad instead of sharing the ice with 2 guys who are top 5 at their positions.

I am 100% the captain of the don't trade Nylander crowd. The Leafs would lose that trade and the team won't ever be better for it.

I said the exact same thing about Kempe after he scored 35 last season, then he scored 40.

There's 23 players in the NHL that have been able to maintain a 16%+ shooting percentage over the past 3 years (min 150 games), so it's not so outlandish to think that he can't keep it up. That number rises to 46 if you change it to 15%.

Then I think both teams should keep their respective players and continue to be happy with them.

I think Kampf is the better player over Allison, reasonable cap hit for only a 3rd rd pk...and the Leafs clearly value Kampf (its the Leafs who wouldnt even consider this trade)...the Leafs just signed him to a 4 year deal on June 28.

From the Flyers perspective...I'd probably do this, Kampf makes the team a bit more palatable in a down year so that maybe some fans can stomach watching a game or two and the prices of a 3rd and only 2.4M/4 yrs are both reasonable prices.

Also, Kampf could probably fetch a DP or a prospect even after playing for a year or two, so no harm no foul.

It's not sustainable, his career average is closer to 10. Expect a drop back to earth.

His first several seasons were spent in the bottom six as a center. He was moved to the wing and given a shot on the first line out of necessity during the rebuild, and he ran away with the opportunity and hasn't looked back.

Tage Thompson shot at 5-8% during his first several years in the NHL. Then he figured it all out and now is scoring at a 15%+ pace. Are you suggesting that he's closer to a 8% career shooter?

No, but I bet they drop to closer to 10. Very few players can sustain a high shooting percentage. Matthews is one of the outliers who on average shoots closer to 15% and also shoots more than just about everyone.

There are 24 players in the NHL that have maintained at least a 15% overall average shooting percentage since the 2015-16 season (300 games minimum), so it would seem that it's not as rare as you suggest.

If Chandler Stephenson can do it, I don't see why Adrian Kempe can't.

VGK is getting fleeced. Trading Rielly and depth players for the reigning Conn Smythe winner + 2 serviceable defenseman??

It's in Toronto and LA's best interest to keep Nylander and Kempe respectively.

PHI trade is bad for Toronto. Kampf is a much needed bottom-six centre who does great work on the PK.

We are not trading Samsonov. They didn't go through that arbitration period for nothing lol.
