Despite Philly outperforming expectations, everything still sounds like they're staying on track for a rebuild. Still plenty of players looking like they're on their way out. I don't think this makes any sense for Philly.

Flyers don't need Chychrun, and they are not giving up 1st round picks. Jonesy spoke on a recent pod that they are planning on having "2 to 3" 1st round picks this upcoming draft. So little to no chance this trade happens.

Chychrun is only 25 years old. He fits the timeline for a rebuild. Both 1st Rd picks this year will likely be high, so I personally have no problem with moving two players who I think Chychrun is better than and a first round pick for a guy who will be part of the solution moving forward in Chychrun. Plus he has the Philly connection we all love so well. smile

This would be a very interesting return for Ottawa. Laughton fits their needs to a T.

How good is Zamula as a RD? He is listed as a left shot but a LD/RD. If he were a right shot, this would be a perfect return for Ottawa.

Ottawa is dead last in the Atlantic, Laughton isn't being dealt to a Non-Playoff team, And sorry on what planet would this not be beaten rather easily?

Cates
Bonk
Pick

Well Chychrun is 25 rn, but will be 26 by the end of March. He is also due a major pay raise at the end of next season, I would guess at least $7M per. York is also due a pay raise after next season and JamieD the year after. So at that point we would have 5 defenseman making over $5m a season. Tell me how that works cap wise. I would much rather keep Zamula who is consistently improving. Trade Laughts for a 1st and keep our 1st.

If that pick is a 1st it's an easy no for Philly.

Bonk has been playing really well in the OHL that I would be hesitant to trade him at this point.
