I doubt there was a better offer than this. I heard (which it is probably not true) that Philly rejected a 1st rd pk for Laughton. I doubt in the offer Philly rejected they were getting in return a player of Jarnkrock's caliber who is on a reasonable contract for three years. That alone is enough of a sweetner to pull the trigger imo.

A first rd pick for Laughton, a 4th and a 5th for Seeler and Jarnkrock put up 39pts last year, his salary is only 2.1M for 3 years which fits the rebuild timeline.
A rebuilding Flyers should take the 1st rd pk in a heartbeat...Laughton has 3M/3 years - Jarnkrock has 2.1M/3years...pretty comparable player imo.
It is all about stacking assets for Philadelphia.

Konecny to finish off
RW Dufour is not a bad prospect had a great AHL season, and LD Odleius also not bad a 19y/o 2nd rd pk, plus I dig the grit of Clutterbuck and Martin in a rebuilding year. Plus a 1st rd pk for TK. I think the value is pretty close here, tbh. 1st rd pk, Dufour and a 2nd rd prospect...plus 2 NHL guys that are tough to play against on 1yr deals. As a Flyers fan I would not hate this and TK can go play with cuz.

Believe me when I say that it is 150x more likely that Connor McDavid gets traded to the Arizona Coyotes than it is the Philadelphia Flyers trade Matvei Michkov. Philadelphia is over the moon to have Michkov right now.

Carter Three Team Trade
You do realize Carter has a full no-movement clause...right? Carter would have to waive and the only other teams I could see Carter waiving to would be a serious contender and maybe OTT because of Giroux. Other than that, Carter simply will not agree to waive his NMC.

Nashville likely will not part with their 1st Rd pks, especially if they are not protected. TK has only 2 years left, Lindholm has only 1 and that is NSH taking a HUGE risk if neither sign long term.

Philadelphia Flyers signed Samuel Ersson (2 Years / $1,450,000 AAV)
This is an excellent extension, period. This is clearly a good sign for Ersson, the Flyers are showing faith in Ersson, amidst a tinge of adversity, Cal Petersen was brought in and could see some time as the backup bc of his massive salary. Nonetheless, the Flyers are signaling that Petersen likely doesnt have a future in Philadelphia beyond the 2-year contract that Petersen has, and Ersson will be part of the future moving forward.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMDannyB</b></div><div>Asset? You mean dead weight Joseph? The 4th liner that makes more than $3M a year for the next 3 years? The flyers should be shedding all contracts that are 3+ years long not get more of them</div></div>
I see you point, but I still think Joseph would make this Flyers team, the Flyers have the cap space, Joseph wouldnt take a roster spot from a prospect like Foerster, more likely is Allison or Atkinson get waived or moved or something or other, he also fits in with the rebuilding timeline (3 years), adding 2nd rd picks in exchange for salary are exactly the types of rebuilding moves this team needs to make right now.

I see your point...perhaps 5yr/5M wouldn't be the worst thing for the Flyers moving forward with a vet goalie in Hart.

I agree just because our 2nd rd pk in 2025 is not going anywhere. However, Ostlund and a 1st for TK is quite a good return.

I disagree again, that is a lot of assets coming back...Goyette is only 19, and was a 2n, plus what will prob be a late first and another 2nd...thats quite a good haul for Hart, who will likely be owed a raise comparable to Jarry OR MORE. Selling Hart at this stage for this price I would not hate.

Jarry to Philly Karlsson to PIT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMDannyB</b></div><div>Come on man u give flyers fans a bad name when u post ridiculous trades like this lol. Cal sucks and u think they are gonna give us Jarry?</div></div>
Hart needs a buddy, plus name a team that will take on a 5M Goalie on a 5 year deal that Jarry will waive his NTC to go to. Pitt has to be creative if they want Karlsson. Now is the time for Philly to get creative, if anything my creativty should give Flyers fans a good name. Not that this is realistic, but it is creative and it did get Karlsson to Pit and PIT is under the cap. Veterans Carter and Petry are not going to waive, unless they are moved to a legit contender, and its doubtful any competing teams can take on those salaries.
A more realistic trade would probably just include Jarry in the deal to SJS lol, but there is no creativity in that, and plus Jarry prob would not waive to go to SJS, but its Phun to imagine the Jarry/Hart as a tandem

Did you not see what Ottawa got in return for DeBrincat?
The return for Konecny, 2 years left on the deal btw, Konecny could play for this entire year and still be worth more than what is returned in this deal.....it just is a terrible effort.
Plus look at Philadelphia's pipeline, lots of LDs there..eh?
They dont even have a spot for one of their best LD prospects Emil Andrae who might have to go back to Sweden because Sanheim, who is a LD, is immovable because he is signed for 8 ****ING years. The last thing Philly needs is another LD and on an expiring contract to boot.

York - Risto
Sanheim - Walker/Zamula/Seeler
Staal - whoever is left.</div></div>
Same thing, Andrae is ineligble for the AHL, per the agreement with the SHL. If Andrae gets sent to Lehigh Valley his rights go back to HV 71.
