why? we get two assets for nothing. Flyers graciously accep imo, we have the cap space...seems like a no brainer.

Asset? You mean dead weight Joseph? The 4th liner that makes more than $3M a year for the next 3 years? The flyers should be shedding all contracts that are 3+ years long not get more of them

I see you point, but I still think Joseph would make this Flyers team, the Flyers have the cap space, Joseph wouldnt take a roster spot from a prospect like Foerster, more likely is Allison or Atkinson get waived or moved or something or other, he also fits in with the rebuilding timeline (3 years), adding 2nd rd picks in exchange for salary are exactly the types of rebuilding moves this team needs to make right now.

If you think he's a 4th liner, you don't know hockey. Joseph is really good defensively and an excellent penalty killer. He didn't put up too many points last year but also had 35% offensive zone starts. I would prefer to keep him but the term on the contract will make signing our rfas/ufas in the next few years more difficult. A 2nd round pick and a above replacement level player is a good deal for any team.\

Cool if he is so good keep him. He’s overpaid and has a long bad contract flyers have enough of those already.

I literally answered this in the post if you read it. Flyers just retained $3.5m x 3 years on Hayes and are rebuilding. Seems like a move right up their alley. If not Philly I'm sure theres another team willing to take him for a 2nd rounder. No sweat.

If that was the case he would have been moved already but he hasn’t

There's no rush. Forsy might end up on LTIR anyways. Dorion is probably looking for a better deal and doesn't want to part ways with the 2nd. But I imagine that is what happens in the end.

Ducks need futures, not older depth fwds. We’d keep the 3rd

And yet...

Points/60 at ES in 2021-22 : 1.89 (Joseph) vs 1.72 (Laughton)
Points/60 at ES in 2022-23 : 1.18 (Joseph) vs 1.45 (Laughton)

Joseph better defensive + PK results

In this poster's books, Joseph is a dead weight 4th liner while Laughton is worth 1st + 2nd tears of joy
