Habs lineup Aug 2023

Created by: HabsFanNT07
Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 6, 2023
Published: Aug. 7, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade 1: in the past, he always wanted to play for Detroit. if we retain only 1M per year for 2 years, cap hit will be around 3.6M, he’s definitely a top 4D so we can definitely get a 2nd and 4th rd pick.. wouldn’t be surprised if we got more for him. I think it’s a fair deal.

Trade 2: I know people are quick to get rid of Allen, but I think we should keep him. deSmith is about the same age and will be an FA at the end of the year. He’s a good goalie that could get the same pay or even more than Allen but at a longer term., I’d take Allen for security for 2 years if Primeau or any other goalie isn’t ready yet.

Why Philly? Well if Hart is suspended for the 2018 WJC allegations Philly might need a good cheap goalie, and we can also add some more pick so they can pick up Armia’s money of the books.

I'm sure if Detroit wanted Petry that they would have traded for him already. At least not at that price anyways.

God damn it. We're going to have to put up with 2 years of Petry retained to Detroit for way too many assets, aren't we?

Flyers pipeline is already stuffed, so if Hart's moved or suspended it'll be Errsson and Petersen or Sandstrom.

PHI has no interest in either player, and i dont think either are positive assets, I think it cost a 3rd and a 4th for nothing just to be rid of them

Really do not care if Petry does or does not want to play for Wings, Stevie is not giving up assets like that to make it happen. Wings do not not need retention so holding part of his cap is not an incentive for Wings to give up a 2nd round pick

Nah. Detroit has too many LHD and wants to compete now.
William Wallinder and a draft pick probably a 3rd for Petry at half retention . Let's restart the 2022 offseason all over again!

Decline, Wallinder will be Seider’s future D partner when Detroit is actually ready to compete.

Honestly, we need more experience too. These damn young guys are too inexperienced! Seider and Raymond for Price!
