explain why? 1st + A- Prospect + B prospect is a solid package. Dufour has shown a good goal scoring ability in the minors and in the AHL since being drafted. Why does Briere laugh?

Maybe remove the 3rd going back to the Islanders?

Nobody listed in that trade is an A- prospect or even a B prospect unless the ghost of McDavid’s rookie year is in the deal and I missed it 😂😂 Flyers easily decline this

A former 5th round pick, 2 cap dumps, a mid 1st and a former 2nd rounder for a 60 point winger locked up at a great cap hit, retaining salary and giving up a pick? The trade makes no sense for the Flyers. They can get better than that

1st + Dufour who is a very good prospect and Odelius is a 2nd round pick from 2 years ago. If you don't understand prospects, then I can see why you don't think Odelius nd Dufour are of no value...

Wait I didn’t even read the description you think a dude who scored 21 goals in the AHL is an A- prospect? That must make half of our prospects the next Wayne Gretzky

Forget the prospect grading.
You give a 1st, a 2nd and a 5th for a Konecny on retention plus a 3rd. That’s not fair value. Not to mention 2 cap dumps. Holmström or another 1st is probably in order for this to be even considered.

I am a Leafs fan by the way - So I am not coming in from a Islanders Fan bias.

Dufour is a very good prospect and has well out performed his 5th round draft pick status. he would easily go much higher in a redraft. His last year in Junior he dropped 56 goals and well over 100 points and getting 21 goals in the AHL as a 20 year old is actually very solid. At worst he is a B+ prospect.

He could very well turn into a good NHL player in a few years.

Exactly. Leafs fans somehow tend to have the fantasy that dumping millions of dollars in cap burden is free.

It’s not about me not valuing your assets, it’s about you underestimating Konecnys value. He’s a star now

It’s the “could” that beats you. “A” prospects are certain to become decent NHL players… He is not, yet

Stars tend to go for 1st + good prospect + another piece usually. I am treating Dufour as the good propsect. Odelius as the other piece.

So based on that, I would remove the 3rd going to the Islanders and maybe add a 3rd going to Philly for the cap reasons.

Dufour getting no love. He definitely deserves some more. At the same time, Flyers aren't going to take on cap to help out NYI, even if they are Lou's expiring god children. If it's an all-in play, the first plus Wahlstrom might make sense. Depends how you feel about OW.

Lycksell just had 3 points less in 16 less games played, that must mean he’s the 2nd coming of McDavid! By ur standards Lycksell must be an A+++++++ prospect!

He was an over ager in his last Junior season. And I think everyone can agree that junior numbers mean nothing. Same goes for AHL unless you’re blowing away the competition in the AHL

For example, Dryden hunt who’s strictly a 4th liner had 58 goals and 116 points in his last Junior year. Then multiple 20 goals 45 points in the AHL

Sure Dufour should get some love but to call him an A tier prospect is probably reaching lol

Star tends to go for a 1st, an nhl experienced, and ready prospect (A-tier) plus another good piece (B tier). A second could also be put in depending on contract, team cooperation and track record. Konecny has the contract and a team whose in no rush to trade him. That means he’s expensive. The cap dumps makes the value required goes up.

Regarding Dufour, I’ve undervalued him because he’s worth mote to Islanders, and fans, than he will ever do for another team until he can showcase his talent in the NHL. His size and AHL performance is brilliant but he lacks the NHL experience and draft selection to persuade another GM to rate him as an A-tier prospect, I reckon. Until he reaches the NHL he will just become a regular AHL star like Matthew Phillips or Alex Barré-Boulet. They were once like him but never got the chance, always the last man cut from the NHL roster.

The most realistic trade would be 50% Konecny for Clutterbuck, Wahlström, a 1st and a 2nd. The second is debatable and maybe not necessary. Martin could tag along for a 3rd I guess. Reason for Wahlström is that he isn’t appreciated in NY

Exactly lol Frost had just as many points in junior and up until this past year most people thought he wouldn’t even be a 3rd line player now most people are saying probably middle 6 center.

Funny you mention Lysell because I don’t think Boston are too happy about his progress as a 1st rounder… And he’s still better and 1 year younger xD

Lycksell is also 2 and a half years older. That makes a huge difference. He would have a lot less value than Dufour based on age.

RW Dufour is not a bad prospect had a great AHL season, and LD Odleius also not bad a 19y/o 2nd rd pk, plus I dig the grit of Clutterbuck and Martin in a rebuilding year. Plus a 1st rd pk for TK. I think the value is pretty close here, tbh. 1st rd pk, Dufour and a 2nd rd prospect...plus 2 NHL guys that are tough to play against on 1yr deals. As a Flyers fan I would not hate this and TK can go play with cuz.
