    Where’s the value for Lindholm?
If you think a late 1st, Aket, Bourgeault and ceci who is a cap dump + a 5th is enough to strip your biggest rival of Lindholm (twice retained) + Tanev (50% retained) you are very wrong.

For lindholm and Tanev Calgary will bleed you dry.

    What are you talking about?
My friend, watch at least one Ceci game and at least once bother to look at Ceci's statistics to argue that this is a cap reset. You show absolute ignorance of the basic concepts of the game if you come to such absurd statements.

Every single ACGM I’ve seen has the oilers moving Ceci for an upgrade, clearly there is a common theme that oilers are fine parting ways with ceci. If ceci was anything worse keeping he wouldn’t be included in these trades as a cap casualty.

    Lindholm returns a 1st+ Tanev returns a 1st

You have offered a 20 yr old prospect that’s under .5ppg in the AHL and will be quite a bit down Calgary’s depth chart for young wingers. Akey is a decent young dman but at best projects to be a #4 dman but for a puck moving offensively minded dman you’d want to see a higher point production in the OHL which is high scoring Junior

Ever since pitsburgh he’s always been overplayed and that’s shown with his team’s success playing him 20 minutes a night

    2 1sts
    Broberg or Holloway
    Ceci for cap reasons
    Akey or Bourgeault
Is the minimum for Lindholm and Tanev
    With Calgary retaining 4.675 mill.

-You are ignoring factors like Calgary can probably get better returns selling each player separate.
    - Edmonton is a div rival and Calgarys biggest rival they will pry out the max value they can

    As for Ceci
Never has had a WAR above 40%
EV defence hovers around the 60th percentile
    EV offence around 20th percentile
PK percentile has him well below average since joining Edmonton
    He’s a turnover machine.
His GF/GA differential has barely been even or negative for most his career
    His Corsi is below 46%

It has always been stated that teams have always overplayed him and he’s not a 20 minute a night defenceman.

Yes he may block shots and yes he may hit but those stats have to been taken with a grain of salt at time. Rasmus Ristolainen Blocked lots of shots and hit a ton, usually was top of the league in both those categories but he was a defensive liability.

Cody Ceci has his Highs but his Lows are much more detrimental, he’s inconsistent and that’s the bottom line

Look, I get it, you like to exaggerate the things you talk about. Well, okay, that's your right.
To the point. Ceci is a cap dump, no it is not, it is not a lie based on actual facts. I'm basing this on personal impressions of actual Edmonton games, match results, and statistical numbers. Therefore, there is no need to judge the defender by how some fans of this site manage him; this is not the ultimate truth.
I don’t argue, Tanev is an improvement on Ceci, that’s why I made this exchange. But the truth is that this is not a huge improvement in the position, but a small improvement in the parameters that Ceci is already in good condition. For example, I think Tanev is a better skater, tougher, this is his advantage over Ceci. Over the past five seasons, Ceci has a positive +/- score, playing more than 20 minutes per game in Edmonton's first pairing against the opponent's best forwards. Listen, I don’t go deep into statistics, I give numbers of classical statistics, and they are good for him, but this is for an outside observer. And I first of all judge by the real game, Ceci is a reliable defender, he does high-quality defensive work, he has no mistakes in defense and is sent off very little, an excellent defender, definitely not a scorer, but he can support the attack, good passes and a good shot.
So my offer is Ceci + Akey is a package for Tanev, since Ceci is a legitimate player of the 2nd pair of any NHL team, who plays for a reasonable price for one more season, and at the next deadline Calgary will receive for him with half of his salary withheld 2- oh draft pick. Akey is a high-scoring blueliner who moves the puck well, with the potential to be an NHL 2nd defenseman in three years. In the last rookie camp, he was the best defender, despite being the youngest. This is a worthy offer.
For Lindholm, I offered the 1st round of the draft + Bourgault, who was selected in the 1st round of the 21 year draft, yes, I agree he is not very productive in the AHL, but he definitely has the potential to be a mid-six forward in the NHL in two years.
And the fifth round of the draft for withholding half of the salary is an accepted price, look at the last deadline.
