While obviously a Guentzel trade is very unlikely after the Lindholm move, if it happened and we moved someone in it for cap reasons it would be Mikheyev or even Zadorov before Garland. He’s been the main reason our 3rd line has been one of the best in the league this season

Seemed to be the easiest/most logical to me to spread his cap hit amongst the roster with Guentzel being a clear upgrade. You don't think the 3rd line above would be just as productive while being cheaper?

Agree 100%. Unless a top 6 forward gets seriously injured before the deadline, I doubt Guentzel will be a realistic target for the Canucks. The Canucks would have to include Willander or Lekkerimak and the Pens would also need to take a less than optimal roster player back. Plus, one of Guentzel or Lindholm almost certainly can't be resigned in that scenario. Just doesn't seem like a win for either team.

Joshua-Blueger-Garland just have such good chemistry together I wouldn’t want to split them up in season. Garland’s play driving ability has been a huge factor in that line being so successful as well. I think a Suter-Blueger-Hoglander line would be solid, but I wouldn’t want to split up a line that we know works really well and has been our most consistent and at times best line this season

Fair enough, I saw this as VAN becoming an absolute juggernaut if they picked up 2 of the offensive powerhouses on the trade market. I'm invested in getting the cup back to Canada at this point lol load up boys!
