I think that's a good deal for Tanev. Conroy likes size, so stanley fits the bill. And Montreals 2nd is pretty much a late 1st.

Stanley isn't a guy that should be on Calgary's radar. I think they'll target guys that are 20 - 23 who are close to NHL ready but not quite there. An RFA with arb rights who is turning 26 doesn't really fit the direction I don't think. Montreal's 2nd is a good piece though.

Was kind of hoping a retained savard was coming with monahan, possibly over the budget, but a need none the less.

Ship him out to a contender he approves of,
for a mid round pick (at most).
Don’t think we’d demand much back for him, maybe try for a 4th- or a 3rd if there’s multiple teams interested. If not, a 5th or 6th even seems possible to me.
