Probably not enough for both. I’d expect a first for each, then more on top. Even if Andersson isn’t the best play wise, we’re still giving up a lot by trading him. He’s a leader in the room, and one of the only players under contract over the next few years.

I’d expect this kind of package for Marky alone really. Top prospect, cap dump, first, and a third + makes sense to me. Andersson and the extra other guys probably makes this a no from a Flames perspective

Should probably temper your expectations, cant see anyone giving that much for Markstrom.

“I guess in Calgary, they don’t listen to National reporters, local beat writers…they follow a couple posters on a two websites: one called Calgary Puck that are supposed to be 100% accurate. And one called HFBoards. They have claimed they have broken news on previous trades before and have always been accurate. Both appear to be sourcing one another in some regards (and sourcing a few anonymous twitter accounts).

They say the Markstrom to NJ is 100% confirmed and done. If before the end of their game last night, details began spilling out. Do not know who all the pieces are yet.

This is what their “insiders” know of trade:

1. Deal was done yesterday, they had to delay one day until Vladar came off IR and allow time for Markstrom to waive NTC.
2. Paperwork has already been filed with NHL central registry
3. It definitely includes Mercer, Casey, two 1st and another prospect
4. Not sure if that other prospect is Holtz or in addition to Holtz.
5. And maybe three picks total
6. I know if there is any retention, but sounds unlikely
7. It does not include Hanifin as he played last night (Markstrom did not).
8. Could includes Vanecek going to Calgary, but sounds unlikely.”
