Top prospect for a rental? Don't think that's true. A first and another pick or two will likely get it done. Most of the teams in on Hanifan don't have a 2024 1st round pick or can't afford him without retention.

Hanifin’s the Top Trade Board Piece this season that’s lacking available Good Defensive Players. We’ll retain and/or may take a contract back if necessary

The Top Prospect will be the most important piece. We’d even accept a 2025-2026 1st or multiple 2nds instead of a 1st, so long as we get a Top Prospect or Quality Young NHL Player in the deal

I think you're tripping. I'm pretty sure Elliot Friedman said a 1st and an addition pick or two is the price on the 32 thoughts podcast.

We have probably the Best TWO Available Trade pieces at this years Deadline, so yes, I’m optimistic about their potential returns for sure
