are the kings selling pieces or going all in

Roy would objectively be the best trade target for the Leafs. I’ve thought about this idea before, but Kings fans are usually pretty insistent that he won’t be traded, even though he won’t be re-signed. So not sure.

i know their tdl plans are kind of hinging on the severity of kempe’s injury rn, so if he ends up being out long term maybe they think about it? cuz realistically they could take these assets and get a guy like walker back in to fill the role for a second, or use the first and cap savings to go after a bigger target.

i’d love to see the leafs get roy and honestly think it’s possible, if a bit of a long shot. maybe flip this first for guentzel if kempe’s out 👀

fair, although i think even if they could afford roy would they not be looking at running doughty-clarke-spence as the right side next year?

my thinking is if kempe's injury is severe, this move could still help them go in. flip our first with a guy like turcotte maybe and get guentzel (prevents vegas from getting him) and could even flip a 2nd or something to get walker back to cover roy's spot considering he obviously knows the system in la already. idk, maybe just wishful thinking on my part but i think it also does make some sense
