I dont see the caps moving Beck. But if they do I would assume they will need a better prospect compared to Petrov

I guess we'll see, but I think Lavoie is good sweet spot. He's ready for the NHL and can be test-driven in the last 20 games, should be cheap to re-sign and fits well with the age of the core. He's physical enough and has a heavy enough shot to thrive as a middle-6er and I genuinely think the opportunity is there in OTT- especially post-deadline.

Fair enough, but I remain doubtful that they'll get a 1st for Dowd straight across. The idea in my trade is that most of the value of the 1st goes towards adding Dowd while the rest & Petrov go towards Malenstyn. I want EDM to really improve their 4th line and, while Dowd goes a long way, getting a linemate that we know works with him is all the better.
