MTL
  1. Zegras, Trevor
Additional Details:
For 2 years, Hughes has moved an acquired 1st for a C. I think he does it again. Plenty of quality assets to move.

Suzuki amd Zegras a 1A-1B I think is a place worth going
ANA
  1. Barron, Justin [RFA Rights]
  2. Heineman, Emil
  3. Kidney, Riley
  4. 2024 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
What the Ducks get:

Barron is a big body who has a transition game that is still developing. Fits in nicely as the #6 for now. Absolutely top 6 potential. He and Zelleweger (not that sold on Helleson), Mintyukov and Lecombe look to form ab excellent top 4 long term for the Ducks.

Heineman: maybe a little lighter than a typical Verbeek target, but definitely has the ability to be a top 6 winger. Scoring at a PPG rate with Laval, and got a cup of coffee. Ducks lack young wingers that can step in. Heineman can do that I think.

Kidney: if moving a C, getting a developing one back makes sense. Kidney has game. Tracking to be a 200 foot top 6 player.

WPG 1st: maybe later than some may want, buy it is a first rounder. The pick looking to be in the bottom 10 of the 1st round, the quality of kids offsets that.

An A prospect at the position of need is fine, but two B prospects and a pick almost guaranteed to be no earlier than 25 isn't enough.

No Slafkovsky, no Reinbacher, no Montreal 2024 first, no incentive whatsoever to trade Trevor Zegras, who isn't on the market.

Gotta be honest...... I wouldn't be opposed to moving the Montreal 1st here.

I do view both Barron amd Heineman being better than B prospects (and I am not a Habs fan). By no means bluechip, but defintely will have excellent NHL careers.

It's Zegras.

I question why he is in the rumour mill - a sentiment I have brought uo many times. But you gotta play with it.

As a Leafs fan, I could have gone that direction, but let's be honest..... it would just be insulting.

Disagree.

Barron is a victim of a logjam imo. The talent is there. Needs to play to develop it at the NHL level.

Heineman is scoring at a PPG pace in the AHL..... much like Rousek or Rosén (knowing you a Sabres fan).

An agree to disagree situation.... but defintely more than C prospects.
