Leafs future looking bright

This team will still lack the physical toughness to compete with Florida come playoff time. That Nylander signing has destroyed this teams future. Three guys making 37.25M is just no feasible. Add Rielly cap hit and that is 48.6% of the cap hit in 4 players. They have zero chance of being competitive with this team structure. They will have to pass on Marner to make a competitive full lineup. JT shouldn't be back and not at center for sure. Myself their is no comparison to Marners value to this team over Nylander. Unfortunately the leafs will lose the better of the 2 for nothing.

A bit melodramatic 🤨! First, I - for one - am 100% convinced Marner re-signs. Second, unless there is another global catastrophe- cap is going up every year, so % tied up by top 4 will be decreasing. Also, I think we can withhold judgement on playoff failures until playoffs actually happen 🤦🏻; half the teams don’t make the playoffs - Leafs are perennial contenders and one year, they may catch the breaks 🤞
