Description
Depth is centre is weak, D is exposed if Hughes gets hurt for any significant period of time, same with the goaltending and Demko, and I don't think that forward group competes in the middle of the ice any better than the current group does.

Most likely they regress to competing for a playoff spot next season, IMO.

Buffalo could only offer 7yrs not 8. And 7yrs at 8.5mil would be 4 1st round picks in compensation.

The offer couldn't be more than 5x8.5 for the compensation to be what you posted. Which honestly sounds like something that would be pretty realistic in the event an offer sheet happened.

Not gonna lie, I edited because I remembered there's some wonky rules with offer sheets...

CapFriendly has it at $10.725M. How's the years signed effect it, again?

There’s ZERO CHANCE the Sabres do that

1- we aren’t looking to being in another high paid defenseman, Byram is due a new deal soon

2- Hronek isn’t the style guy we’d even want anyways- we need a “shut down” type
