Description
Cap should have been 100m this year based off of H.R.R. If it isn't there in 2 years, a strike will likely happen.

With moving out Colton and Manson (not concerned about return atm) the avs could ice a cup team with cap to spare. If the cap is lower and closer to 90m, it will look like the roster below. As the cap goes up, so does the supporting talent.

I have a hard time moving Manson, but my hope is the mean side of Clurman helps him stick in 2 years, was well liked and used in this past preseason. I would move Wood, then Colton, then Manson, but I chose the easiest to trade.

100 million would be a big leap from the projections but even without that leap it's eminently possible to keep Rants and field a good roster. There's nothing even to say he goes that high either.

I think Daccord makes close to double that on his next contract if he keeps this up, Korpisalo got 4 mil for 5 years off of 39 good games and a mediocre playoff series, Daccord shouldn't settle for less unless the market just isn't there

You're right, more of a pipe dream. It will be somebody around 3m.

It is and it isnt. With the league being able to support a 100m cap this season through h.r.r, it would take ending escrow or something major to keep that cap lower than a 50/50 split. So i Made it for a 90m cap just to be safe.

Well… if you look at carbs (pasta and bread) as a comparison they are at 13.5 and 13.9% of the cap which would put rants in the 12.5 range at 92m projected cap.

Absolutely it's more than likely he goes at something like that (I think MacK is probably going to be a kind of 'internal cap' for the next few seasons so I don't see anyone getting more than him, even Makar when he's due) but there is also the chance he looks at it (and if the GM has any sense he'll try to steer it in the direction of the fact of his 9 mil deal vs MacK's 6 mil deal) and says he got paid well on his first deal and takes a slightly lower one to help keep the Avs competitive. I'm not sure what kind of guy Mikko is on that kind of thing but some guys (and it only really ever seems to happen in hockey) will actually do that once they've banked money as they're about winning.
