Description
Seems to have a really solid floor, but an underrated ceiling.
The ceiling may not be Catton level, but I definitely see a top-line, multi-dimensional, 40-goal threat.

If we are looking long-term, he would likely play alongside Suz and Slaf if he hits his potential.

Not quite sure of a great player comp, but he could be a lite-version of his father

I'd still rather have Catton, but Iginla would be a great option as well, and would be a really solid pick if that's our route

If we ride in the standings or move back in the lottery, sure. If they're taking him with a top 8 pick though that's a mistake. Either way someone will drop because of the high end d in this draft but I'd also have no problem if they select one of those dmen

Its pretty clear that Lindstrom, Demidov, Celebrini are gone by our pick. That leaves Catton, Iginla, and Eiserman.

I would take Catton 1st, but I think there is a debate to get Iginla over Eiserman. So if we skipped Catton for Iginla, it would be our 2nd best option in my eyes, which I would be definitely ok with, and I could 100% see why MTL wants him

I mean Eiserman is bigger, better shooter and has more talent then Iginla. I'd take Catton, Eiserman, then Iginla in that order. It's also one of those things though where if come draft day and a player is dropping, like Parekha or Yakemchuk because forwards are being selected then id be happy to use another top 10 pick on a dman.

Only way I see them selecting Iginla is if they trade back to that 11-14 range

I wouldn't mind drafting him higher, then again, it's opinions. I loved what I saw from Tij, and I think he has the potential to justify picking him high. I do agree Eiserman has a better ceiling, but one of the lowest floors in the 1st round unfortunately.
