Description
Jets likely need to make some changes on the backend next year with demelo and Dillon as ufas, heinola ready for nhl minutes and a rfa as well as stanley. The concensus for months was to trade away/buyout schmidt keep demelo sign heinola for cheap and lose Dillon. With how inconsistent pionk has been this year I believe that he should be shopped.

What pionk brings:
6'0 190lb rhd that is an ideal 2nd pair dman when he's on his game, can play pp and pk all situations type guy.
5 goals 30 points in 78 games this year
143 sog 213 hits 106 blk 7 ppp and +3 with 63 pims
His advanced stats are all over the place with positive and negative aspects which shows he can be an effective dman but just can't seem to put it together game to game.
Pionk does have a 6 team no trade list which does complicate it slightly but enough teams should have some interest to have a deal.

Pionk has 1 more year after the current one at a cap hit of $5,875,000 and base salary of $6,000,000.
So what is he worth?

Obviously the jets still want to compete so they aren't going to trade pionk for futures or prospects far from nhl ready. Also jets currently have 2 rhd on the team and trading pionk with demelo as a ufa would ideally mean a rhd is coming back but not necessarily depending on the deal (ie demelo resigns and jets either keep miller or think solomonsson is ready)

So let me know what you think pionk would get on the market and what teams would have a need.

Oilers may be interested but you or another team would have to retain money

how does this look as a frame work of a offer '

      Oilers = Pionk

Jets = Ceci, Bourgault????, 2024 2nd or 2025 2nd Winnipeg picks which one they want

I know yall may not want futures but its always good to have some lol

I think its interesting concept but I think pionk and ceci are one in the same in the way where when they play to their best are great top 4 options but you rarely see it as before. Pionk does have more offense and responsibility imo which is understandable as your offer does compensate for that difference but imo its risky for both teams as it doesn't guarantee either team improves at all.

I’m not sure he has much value at all. 5.875M cap hit while making slightly more in real money, is bad defensively, and average to slightly above average offensively. Maybe some teams would be interested but I doubt you get too much in return

He definitely has more value than your giving him credit. Him being a top 4 rhd instantly gives him value and not signed with insane term as its one year. He isn't bad defensively but inconsistent would be more accurate. He can be great and is seen but then can be bad which doesn't make him "bad" no but inconsistent. The amount of top 4 rhd that have 30 plus points that play all situations that would actually be available is a list you can probably count on 2 hands. He definitely gets a good return but definitely not as much as he's had in the past.

He is bad defensively. He has been for the last 3 seasons. Among Winnipeg players at 5v5 in the last 3 seasons (minimum 250 minutes)
      23/24: 3rd highest GA/60, 4th highest xGA/60
      22/23: 3rd highest GA/60, highest xGA/60
      21/22: 6th highest GA/60, 3rd highest xGA/60
