I think Evans can fetch at least a 3rd. He’s coming off a career year, a pk specialist, wins faceoffs… there’s some value there.

My guess is that Hughes hold on to him until trade deadline to see how Owen Beck develops. If Beck has a good 1st year in the AHL, Hughes might consider letting Evans go.

Danielson seems like a blue chip. The last thing Detroit needs is another speedy winger. You need size down the middle.

Evans is the mentor of that C core. We won’t let him go unless a second is in the mix, and even then we might pass

Only reason I don't see Evans going is that he does his job, doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and is able to fit in the group without issues. He's a great 4th liner and I think he's appreciated by the players and management.

If he indicated anything about going to test the UFA market, then Habs may move him. But I do think he's worth a 2nd round pick from a top 5 team, or 3rd rounder from a bottom 5 team. He proved his worth.

Detroit passes on both trades and they aren't signing Monahan. Danielson isn't going anywhere and with Copp, Compher and Veleno there is no need for Evans.
