Description

There is no reason why the Ducks would trade any of their good defenseman (Lindholm, Fowler, Montour, Manson, Vatanen, & Larsson) for a rental forward unless that Forward was an ELITE rental (talking John Tavares Type, not JVR). They have NO reason to move any of their defenseman unless they get what they want back (a good, cheap, controlled, top 6 forward). Lindholm is virtually untouchable and is not being traded for 1 decent player and a mid-late 1st. Vatanen is the most likely to be traded, then behind that, Larsson.

Ducks will be a scary team once healthy. I can see them landing a Nash or Kane at the TDL, but like you said not at the expense of a D with term.

While we're "straight talking" how many Ducks with 9 goals. . . 8. . . 7? Might want to take another look and reconsider before falling even further out of the playoffs. Either that or do what Larkin of the Hockey News suggests and give in to the tank mode as it will be at least 2 months before any semblance of offence returns. Your call!

These injuries will ultimately help the Ducks in the end imo. Either they get a top draft pick and infuse youth into their lineup next season in additon to possibly Steel and Jones. Or they make the playoffs with all their stars rested after recovering from injuries and make a deep playoff run. All it takes is making the playoffs. Anything can happen once your in. Same goes for the draft lottery, anything can happen once your in.

As long as the Ducks can stay a game above 500 until December relying on incredible goaltending and puck luck they'll be fine for the rest of the season.
