Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Sanderson, Jake
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Sanderson would solve their lack of a True #1 Defender who could play on the Top Pair alongside Rielly & is extremely young at just 21 yrs old

Moving down from 23rd Overall to 39th would be a Downgrade but they've proven to have a Good Scouting department & have taken Gems outside the 1st Round plenty in the past. Not to mention if they wanted to take a Top Goalie Prospect in the Draft they're all projected to still be available at 39th Overall
OTT
  1. Marner, Mitchell
  2. Niemelä, Topi
  3. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Marner should get the team over the hump & get the Senators into the Playoffs while still only being 27.

Niemela is arguably the Leafs top prospect who's a defender & did well in the AHL last season. He's NHL bound although he'll probably be a 4/5 guy once he's in his prime

The last piece the Senators get is the Leafs 23rd Overall Pick in exchange for their 39th Overall Pick. Moving up 16 spots in the Draft is nice & they would then have 3 1st Rounders... They could potentially make another move to have 2 Top 10 Picks if they so desired
2.
TOR
  1. Markström, Jacob ($1,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Leafs bring in a Starter who came 2nd in the Vezina race back in 2022! Joseph Woll needs a Starter to play behind or in Tandem with & Markstrom is a solid Veteran Goalie.

Plus at a 4.5M Cap Hit it should ease the worries of the bad numbers he put up in 22 - 23 as hopefully just a one off, he did bounce back in 23 - 24 after all
CGY
  1. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
  2. 2026 1st round pick (TOR)
  3. 2026 3rd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
The Leafs give up the standard 1st & 3rd asking price for Markstrom while needing to add a 4th onto there since the picks are a few years out still & there's 1.5M in Salary Retention

Cmon be real dude. Sanderson is legit untouchable, we would never trade our best defenseman who’s only 21.

Dont see it, but Marner for Sanderson is probably close to even, the rest unbalances it IMO

It’s really not close at all.

I think Sanderson has a bit more value which is why I added a solid prospect & also had the Senators moving up from 39th to 23rd in the Draft this year. I was debating adding another Leaf prospect on top of this return though.

I think Marner would get the Senators over the hump & get them into the Playoffs, which is something the teams really aiming for. Plus while the Leafs can't send a guy nearly as good as Sanderson to Ottawa I wanted them to send their best prospect who's a defender so that the Senators would still have a good defender coming up shortly. Niemela could quite possibly become a 3/4 guy, not a Top Pairing guy like Sanderson, but still a good NHL defender

Plus moving up to the 23rd Overall Pick would give them 3 1st Rounders.... They could package the Leafs & Bruins picks up while adding a lil something extra & could possibly get multiple Top 10 Draft Picks for the Draft perhaps

Sanderson is probably more untouchable than anyone else on our roster. He is never getting moved, especially not for Marner. If you guys want Chabot or Chych then sure.
