Look, I understand why the rumors are there. He just recently said that he wouldn't give Ottawa a discount to resign him, and then they ask for his 10 team NTC, and to top it all off, it's a struggling team.

Need I remind you that this team just vastly overpaid for Matt Duchene, in an attempt to go for a Cup? Duchene wanted to go to a Cup contender, and Ottawa felt that he was the missing piece. Yes, he's struggled, but is this team really going to give up after a 15 game period where they haven't played well? Nope.

If they were going to trade Karlsson, they'd need a capable top pairing defenseman coming back, plus a whole lot of assets. Not just a first round pick and a decent prospect. An abundance of first round picks and top prospects, plus the top pairing defenseman. He's a generational defenseman.




So no, Buffalo isn't getting EK for a first round pick and Cliff Pu. No, the Islanders aren't getting him for Brock Nelson and Calvin De Haan. No, the Oilers aren't getting him at all. Don't get too excited about getting him, because your team probably doesn't have the assets to acquire him. Sorry.

He's untradeable right now. As crazy as that sounds.

His price is too expensive for anyone too afford right now.. Either Ottawa trades him now for less than what fans and management think he's worth and persecuted for it or they wait till next years TDL when both sides will be a little more desperate.

I dont think anyone actually thinks he's getting traded, as F50Marco said theres nobody that would give up what the Sens would ask for in return unless they were asking to get fleeced. Do I think he's leaving after next year though? 100%
