EDM gets 3 top prospects including a real #1 tendy but they have to give up some goodies. If you're looking long term to build around McDavid I think they would give this a long consideration. Other 2 trades are just salary dump they don't matter just didnt want to send Perron back to EDM even if hell be FA next year. Also I don't like Ian Cole
EDM gets 3 top prospects including a real #1 tendy? Sorry but you are over valuing that way too much. They have similar assets already in their system to those guys, why would they move Eberle for stuff they already have
Nilsson has always been bad, and Talbot was suppose to fix things but they learned real quick he's just a backup. Theres no question they need a solid guy in between the pipes if they're going to win. Both of they're current goalies are just under 3 GAA. (They are also just barley keeping a save % above .9 ,which is terrible for a staring goalie in the NHL)This would give them a #1 that they can secure for a while as Murrays only 21. Theyd have to give something up to get that and they have a surpus of offense if they plan on building around McDavid they're going to need to get some solid defenders and goal tending this gives them both. It also frees up more cap space for them so come off season they can sign/resign some defense men because a lot of their defense will need to be signed and maybe they can target someone like Byf. Bennet was a 1st round pick and when he isn't hurt hes been a top pairing wing, and Clendening is still young and maybe not NHL ready yet but is a great puck moving defesemen that a team with the offensive talent of EDM need. Also just for fun out of 40 Goalies both EDMs are 38 & 39 ( http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/player/_/stat/goaltending/sort/avgGoalsAgainst )
Laurent Brossoit has been a monster in the AHL. He's the goaltender of the future and one of Talbot or Nilsson will be his backup long-term.
There's no way Edmonton would gut their entire RW corps for a similar player in Murray.
Pass.
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=118258 Lol is this the guy you're talking about his GAA is just as bad if not worse, although his save % is better. I'd rather have Murray and his .940 I guess well see if EDM can turn it around I think a lot of the blame should be placed on their defense too. It just concerns me looking at Brossoit's stats theyre all over the place and that in the AHL. Goalies do get better with age though but I still think I'd be looking for a goalie if i was EDM and who better for a young team than Murray.
