Description
Tried to keep the contracts similar & make trades that would benefit both teams. Main focus here was getting rid of the cancers that are Ben Lovejoy, Ian Cole, and David Perron. I like Kunitz but his contract is too big. The rest is just fitting pieces together and building up a solid defense. Thoughts?

The AZ trade is never going to happen. Too low of an offer to them.
It would take at a minimum a first rounder to get BOEDKER, one more to get HANZEL, and maybe a third for MICHALEK. If you really wanted to make the deal work it would probably include MURRAY, BENNET, SPRONG, and a 2nd. Then you could add PERRON and KUNITZ to offset salary.
BONINO = STEWART, lateral move here IMO
No way the sharks deals VLASIC for that package. too low.

The PENS do not really have the assets to acquire talent via trade right now. The biggest trade chips the pens have for futures are MURRAY and SPRONG. BENNETT is no longer a prospect, and looks more like an often injured player. Not sure how much trade value he would have.... maybe a third rounder.

Agree with myteam. In the Arizona trade, the Pens get three best players, for what?

The Bonino trade was a lateral trade Wing for Center. The Sharks are getting old they need to start going younger cause they havn't been a contender for a long time so something needs to change. They've got a lot of old players with huge contracts the point of this trade was to take a bigger contract off them and replace it with a young prospect and a pick. I don't value Vlasic that high so if they accept if cool if not then send Cole to AHL or deal him somwhere else but it was just a way to get rid of him. The ARI deal is great for them Bennet and Perron were both 1st round picks... and Kunitz had 40 points last season and Perron had 57 the year before. The big thing here is ARI gets younger players for their older ones that need to be resigned in 1 or 2 years. For a young team like ARI this is a great deal for them as they now have players like Domi, Duclair, and Ekman Larsson to build around. They also get Plotkinov who was very good in the KHL but has had some bad luck transitioning into the NHL. even if he doesn't get up to his KHL standard hes still a big body with decent skill who has been great on the 4th line for the pens this year.

Astoria. You just confirmed myteam and my analysis of the trades. Paraphrasing "send Cole to the AHL just to get rid of him." Well maybe this is why myteam said the Vlasic offer was too low.

The Arizona trade is great for Pittsburg NOT Arizona as you suggest. Bennett has never proved himself to be a competent NHLer, (may not be his fault but injuries) Perron is a UFA. Doesn't matter at all that they at one time were 1st rounder picks. Lovejoy is a UFA. So there is at least two guys were "are not younger" guys. Old Kunitz has one year left on his NTC contract. Plotkinov may or may not ever be a good NHLer. At age 26 if you haven't made an impression in the NHL, good change you won't ever.
