Lou can't get up, he's laughing so hard. I wouldn't trade JVR straight up for Max, never mind throwing in Soshnikov, Carrick, and a 2nd pick.

No way Nylander signs for $4.5M try more like $6.5M at the very least.

Why do say that? Nylander can take a bridge contract. Your boy Trouba who you tout as 7m player, signed for 3.0m bridge hoping for a bigger payday in the future,

Trouba also sat out a month or so from the start of the season and took less, No reason for Nylander to take that little. But we shall see.

Well the same thing could happen to Nylander. I don't think he going to sit out, but I do think he will sign a bridge, hoping for better $$$ in the future. And I think the Leafs are good with this too.

That's the nature of the CBA. Teams and players don't have to sign 6 to 8 year deal which so many seem to think, And in Trouba's case it why kinda of a CBA imposed salary. Like all RFA's without arbitration the options are as follows. 1. Sign with your current team, 2. Sign an offer sheet which will dictate your $$$ and term. 3. Play in another league. 4. Retire.
