The cap is extremely tight, but this team would contend. Probably would have to let Hjalmarsson walk in the off-season. It'd be tricky to see the season after this, with the cap continuing to go up. You'd still have Krug to play a top 4 after Hjalmarsson leaves, but you're either re-signing Chara for another year and calling up Lauzon/Lindgren/Vaakananien and hoping they take a big step in development. I'm not really sure the acquisition of a big-time RW is worth it for the Bruins.

HAHA I just spitballed a Stone trade in the other thread and our deal is almost identical. The only difference is I had Cehlarik instead of Senyshyn

I just saw it lol. I felt that acquiring Stone, a big right shot RW, Senyshyn would be of interest more to them. He's from the Ottawa area, and would give them a big fast RW'er to build with down the road. However, it does scare me if he hits his potential, but we're on the same page with Senyshyn.

Ya its a tough call. I mean if you acquire and sign Stone you'll have he and Pasta locked up. That' your 1-2 on the RW leaving....Backes, Senyshyn, Bjork, & Heinen all looking at the #3RW (assuming Acciari stays as #4RW). Now granted Bjork & Heinen can play LW, but even then Marchy/DeBrusk look like they've got the 1-2 locked up there. We just don't have enough room for all these guys lol.

The values aren't bad, but our prospect pool is certainly taking a big hit if these went through. Cehlarik, Senyshyn, Zboril, 1st + 3rd are a lot to lose out of our pool in one year. More of a Chiarelli type maneuver, but the team gets a lot better.

As for the fits: I don't really think Hjalmarsson is the type of guy that Carlo needs paired with him. I like him with an offensive guy who can move the puck.

Stone would be a huge upgrade over Spooner. I don't think Ottawa trades him and I don't think we absolutely NEED an upgrade at forward (5th in goals per game league wide).
