Description
(1) I feel like Ericsson will do better in the Pacific and he'll get to play for a contender so he'll waive his NTC. We take back Martin's expiring contract that I imagine SJS want to get rid off. Martin will mostly be a healthy scratch and Hicketts will be a regular in the lineup. Hronek will be called up if somebody is injured.

(2) Our PP is bad. Really bad. I know we're rebuilding, but we still need to remain competitive. That's why I signed Mike Green.

(3) XO for Martin is more of we don't want XO and TOR doesn't want Martin. We get an extra pick and the local boy will be in and out of the lineup depending on if we need GRIT.
(4) Nyquist will be traded for a 2nd and 3rd at the deadline. Which is a similar return for Marcus Johansson.

(5) Kronwall stays with the team all year and retires after the season is over.

That extra year on Ericsson's contract makes his a tough move, but your thought is good. The Martin trade just might be acceptable to both teams. Funny about Martin, it's not like he was playing badly, but once you're out of the lineup with Babcock, it's almost impossible to get back in.

Nobody wants Paul Martin either. That's why he cleared waivers. Riggy is still miraculously an upgrade over Ryan or DeMelo. Plus he could ease some pressure off Burns. We need to move somebody from our D to fix our logjam. Kronwall, DK, and Daley aren't going anywhere. It'd be dumb to move Jensen. Green will most likely re-sign. That just leaves riggy. Idk maybe Anaheim takes him for a pick. They did have Bieksa and Beauchemin on their roster. I also thought about a Matt Moulson + low draft pick for Ericsson trade, but then I thought Ericsson wouldn't waive his NTC to go to Buffalo.
