not sure if this is sarcasm or not? I think on detroits side, we take on a bad contract that falls off end of year and then free up cap to pay Mrazek, for Montreal, they get Howard at 4.3 a year and keep them in the playoff hunt
Adding two defensemen (with Kronwall being back this weekend or next week, it's more like adding 3) and not moving Smith, Kindl, Ericsson, or Quincey is a little odd.
Also, I doubt Richards will be moved, mainly because he has a no trade clause.
It's a good deal for Montreal this year. But Howard's contract runs for another 3 full years at 5.2m a year. (cap hit 4.2m) With Price the Canadians would be paying 10.2 million on two goalies next year. Montreal can fulfill their goalie needs, with a cheaper cap hit if necessary. IMO, Howard is a tough move, without taking money back.

well i really doubt we CAN move ericsson kindl or smith, and even if we could move Quincey, we shouldnt because we need him in the playoffs (its unfortunate hes one of the better guys we have right now)
Im not actually sure Brad richards has a NTC but even if he did, i doubt he wouldnt waive it to go to another playoff bound team
