As an Islanders fan I seriously consider it. Clearing Ladd and Clutters contracts is huge. Petry is a solid add and we get a couple of guys with some potential better than Prince, Quine and Johnston to fill out the bottom nine.

Who's overpaying ? NYI can sacrifice short-term and keep Tavares. Petry had an amazing season, Lekhonen is the cherry... MTL gets a high potential prospect, 2 top 15 picks... Everyone is happy here...

NYI are over paying like crazy.

Remove lekohen, one of NYI first round picks, and brock Nelson and then it’s fair

No because Montreal takes 2 bad contracts of 4 and 5 years to help NYI resign Tavares. I was literally giving away Lekhonen for roster space, and okay for Nelson, but will NYI have enough space ?
