Ishhh.. even if Hanifin's value is high, MTL better just draft Hughes ahahah and keep their only 30 goal scorer left. Mete is going to be a stud. He's far from his soon-tobe value, while Hanifin, yet still not a top 2 D, is RFA and his value should be equal to compensation. I think more than that would kill any teams future, so if CAR really wants to trade him, they better find a one for one.

Horvat is our future captain, and almost untouchable. The only way Horvat gets dealt to you guys, is Horvat for 3rd overall, Mete, and Gallagher.</div></div>
I understand it may not be enough, but you counter is unreal. Horvat is not a point per game player. He was traded for Corey Schneider. Gallagher is a core player who just reached another level, the third is probably one too, and Mete is almost a top 4 at 19. The real reason its not happening is told in previous comments. I'd wait for Pettersson to show he's a 1C and then do the trade.

Monster Florida trade
I love this! BUT, Zadina, Pacioretty and Sherback are wingers and FLA must decline as they don't get replacement for their centres. Leave Borgstrom and Sherback out. If Pacioretty resigns, then him and Zadina are worth Trocheck and that 15 pick + little something. Trocheck is a much younger and complete player than Pacioretty and on a very good contract. Both teams get what they need, this is doable, and plus for MTL, Trocheck is a much needed right handed (only Sherback and Shaw are RH)

Trading Leon

I think he was mocking (dry saddle... yeah wtv) anw, this doesn't seem realistic. MTL would certainly consider Draisatl with their 3rd pick. Again, next year potential lottery pick, Gallagher (core player) and Shaw (2 2nds) is good laugh! MTL will not rush their 1C in that case. They would add something, a good prospect or 3rd line guy, cause yeah, Draisatl is their ideal 1C, but that pick is their future star player too. So it will be for EDM. That goes with any pick that can will Zadina, Tkachuk, Wahlstrom or Hughes (and probably others) this year. Lucic is a no. Draisatl already costs 8M. Giving Lucic would lower Draisatl's value. There had been so many trades with Draisatl and MTL on this website, but nobody seemed to agree. I'd like to give Galchenuyk, 2020 1st round pick and B+ prospect for Drasaitl, but at the end, that won't be enough, and EDM doesn't have to trade him.

I don't understand, why is Pacioretty so low-valuable? I'm a habs fan, but still, when I see Nash, Stasny or Tatar trade, I can't agree Pacioretty is only worth a mid-late 1st and B prospect. I mean, come on! Real scouts know the whole MTL team sucked and when given real playmakers, Pacioretty would reach 30g +, again, for the 6th time in 5 seasons. (he did with Desharnais!) He can agree for an extension "with MTL", then get traded if that so necessary, but he's still a top 10 NHL LW. No doubt I'd prefer him to stay and bounce back, then be traded at his real value, but MTL needs a change now. Unless the plan the is to tank. So I think Vilardi and a 1st is just good!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BiscuitBakesandHotTaeks</b></div><div>Take away all the trash from the ROR trade and add a 1st in 2019 and Mete. Then there is a discussion.
Mike Richards trade: good young player, Top prospect 1st round pick. That’s the price.
Buffalo doesn’t have to move him so any team that does trade for him is going to overpay especially if they are in division.
Plus I don’t like AG’s contract situation. UFA the same year at Mittelstadt is RFA and the year before Dahlin. AG will probably light it up with eichel and then we might lose him to a cap crunch.</div></div>
Buf do actually need to trade one of their centre. Better be a veteran and high salary to help Buf's really long rebuild. MTL wants a centre, but doesn't have to trade Galchenuyk (see all wingers available in MTL)
AG has not reached his full potential, is younger and costs less than OReilly, who also took time to develop in Colorado. Galchenuyk had a 30 goal season as a centre, which OReilly never had. I still don't understand why MTL doesn't play AG 2nd centre anyway... Its really Pacioretty the next one to abandon ship.

My idea (2 trades BUF and CAR)
MTL is losing big time! No Zadina, no pacioretty, no Galchenyuk? You know you're giving away 100 of goals potential there ? Maybe more if Zadina becomes that Elite winger we all think he'll be.
All this for a 19 yo d prospect, who'll probably be in the AHL next years, and ROR who'll be useless without wingers. No, Byron and Lekhonen doesn't match Pacioretty's production. Drouin better be tough! ahaha and the other one wanted a 1st round pick with our captain! Ishhh...
The real offer I heard about is MTL going for Hanifin with Pacioretty, but again... that's because Zadina may replace him! Paciroretty's bad year doesn't count. His value hasn't dropped since october. He's still one of best LW in the league, sorry. Better keep him and make other teams regret not giving for him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>uphere</b></div><div>Trade doesn’t work for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that the value is not there for Draisaitl and the number 10 pick in a deep draft. Also Draisaitl is being paid the “Oiler Premium”, and there may be better value available to the Habs through other trade routes, or even free agency. You proposal would give the Oilers 49 contracts. They already have a surplus of goaltending prospects, it’s unlikely Petry would want to go back to Edmonton.</div></div>
Thanks for your coherent response :) There's so much to think when trading. I asked if you don't think thats good enough, to say what MTL could give to land D and the 10th pick.

Unfortunately, MTL won't trade 2 recent 1st round pick in Juulsen and Sherback.
I'd give you Galchenyuk, Petry, Sherback, 2019 first and this year 2nd for Draisatl and this year first. Only Sherback is the difference here, compared to the actual trade I offered.
If you take Juulsen, its Byron instead of Sherback.

One young good winger with 1st line potential almost achieved in Galchenuyk. Byron, with two straight 20 goals, very speedy, lots of breakaways and very good PK. Can plan all position on the 3rd line and help on 2nd. Petry, that you know well, who just had his best season in a very low scoring year. Fucale, as a goalie prospect (you never know!)
+ 1st which MIGHT be a lottery pick and a 2nd this year.
MTL gets a 1st line center and a good prospect with the pick.

It's a start but how does this benefit Dallas? Benn isn't really needed, while he would upgrade the Top 4, a guy like Honka needs that position more than any for developing. Bishop is no doubt that #1 goalie for Dallas and Lehtonen was a solid backup this year, this is without mentioning about Colton Point who is Dallas's future goaltender. The second would be welcomed with open arms to Dallas but not after giving up their valuable 1st.</div></div>
Yes, you're right. Any players picked with Stars 1st won,t be playing in the NHL next year, not even the one after. If DAL wants to go back in the playoff, I would maybe give Byron instead of Lindgren and Benn.

Please take Pacioretty instead! :awesome hehe
If MTL already had Zadina or Tkachuk (or Svechnikov :O ) they wouldn't trade them straight for RNH. They'd be more valuable, so RNH is not worth the 3rd itself.
As an MTL fan, I'd do it if Nurse was in there too, and MTL adds a little something. I'd still rather see you take Pacioretty. Don't say he's a rental, he's gonna sign. But anyway I don't recall any really high pick being traded since CAR 8th overall in 2012 to PIT for Jordan Staal. PIT had a sweet return, but not some 3rd pick value: They drafted Pouliot and got Dumoulin and Sutter...
But Galchenuyk for the 10 is a win-win, or Pacioretty aheum...
Bergevin also said the offer had to be unreal unless they'll choose the obvious and pick.
