Avs definitely decline. Their goalie situation is fine between Varlamov and Grub. No need to change it for a bigger cap hit if it’s working. Giving up one of the biggest upcoming defensemen and a first rounder. With Varlamov in return, a pretty solid goaltender. No way.
After a terrible season last year and not even posting a .900 this season Price is being extremely overpaid for his performance lately. If he keeps this up his contract becomes the worst in the NHL. I get he’s Carey price but at that cap hit it’s not an easy move any team will be willing to make. And just because they have the cap room does not make it a logical choice.

Joe Sakic knows what he’s doing with the Avs and Cale Makar will be a part of it.

Don’t see why Jackets would make that move either. Nutivara is way younger. Has had an excellent start to this season and is locked up at a very cheap price for a while. Jones and Werenski are already there to log the big minutes. Petry is better than Nutivara but jackets won’t give up a first rounder and Nutivara for this defensive upgrade. Not to mention taking on Calvert’s contract which is a liability IMO. Jackets let him walk last off season, of course they’d trade to have him back!

dont like the Price deal

Petry deal makes sense but there isnt a need to add Value Nutivaara is good but he's not worth taking a late 1st round pick for Petry and hypothetically Calvert if anything i'm still not sure Newt is worth it , he has upside but i did a trade the other day and even the CBJ fans we're calling him '' a good depth D who can play top 4 during injures '' . in MTL he'll be a solid 2nd pair LD but our LD is young and a little weak .

Varlamov ,Makar,Greer, 1st in 2019 and a 2nd 2020. ( its COL pick so likely a late pick )

prices value is actually at its lowest its been in years and that deal mightve went through when he was the vezina winner. Price has a 10.5m as a goalie thats insane, he hasnt been an elite goalie the last 2 years even, he is injury prone. You might get maker and varmalov at best even then colorado would probably decline because varmalov is a solid starter not amazing but gets the job done and giving up such a good prospect for such a horrible contract that used to be a great goalie is very risky.
