A few thoughts:

1. I like the Montreal deal. Drouin is the key for me. The signing of Nelson will possibly make McCabe expendable. I would even be willing to make the draft pick a the 2019 2nd or 3rd round Pick of the Sabres to get the deal done;

2. If you are able to acquire Drouin signing JVR only creates a log jam for players like Nylander, CJ Smith, Olofsson, O'Regan. I would not sign JVR;

3. Instead of signing JVR I would look to move Beaulieu & a pick to Pittsburgh for Hagelin. He is only signed through 18/19. You would also need to be concerned with future contracts for the young core and a JVR deal could become an issue when dealing with signing that young core;

4. I like the Grabner signing as his deal only goes through 19/20;

5. I would be opposed to the Larsson deal since all you are getting in return is a 6th Round pick..... Larsson provides more benefit than a 6th;

6. I would suggest that you move Girgensons & Lehner to NYI looking to grab a 2nd round pick or a player;

7. I think it is a bit rich for Khudobin since he will be a back up to Ullmark;

That would be a really huge haul for O'Reilly, McCabe and Bailey.
