Description
Now that I've made this team I'm a little surprised it works...
The D isn't changed much other than TVR for Murphy unfortunately but Oesterle and Rutta should be slightly more consistent in their 2nd year as NHLers and Forsling hopefully has grown.
They still have the opportunity to add a decent D if they moved Rutta as well.

There is still space next year to resign Schmaltz to a $5-7M deal. By then the D should have 1 or 2 ELC on the back end. The year after will be DeBrincat resigning.
As long as Bowman can hold out on the NMC and NTC on the next couple of big signings (other than Tavares obviously) they should be in a good cap situation moving forward.

Kruger doesn't have to be in the lineup but I figured he'd get another shot. And with the top 3 lines with the firepower they have the 4th line won't be seeing much. Strictly D zone draws and PK time for Kruger. His MO.

Tear me apart. Let's hear it.

I don't think Toronto wants Murphy's cap hit. I do think Carolina wants to give you back Kruger. Anisimov didn't have the strongest season with Patrick Kane, though, so his trade value on his current contract is equal to Kruger.

More importantly, how on earth is anyone on that "first line" better than anyone on the "second line." Like, if they had to pass a background check, I get that Kane might not be there, but other than that...

Probably need to add to Tavares. He’s gonna get at least 11M and probably close to 12M if the cap shoots up to 80M

I’d also say to forget Krüger and save some money. You could sign a very good 4th liner for 1M less than him

Depends what Toronto wants to do with their D situation.
Okay lets not be ridiculous. Anisimov didn't have a great season but he scored 20 goals for the 3rd season in a row and is a great 3rd line center and okay 2nd line center. You'd have a lot of trouble finding a replacement level center for less than $4M on the open market.
I don't see labels next to those lines, do you? Its completely irrelevant which line is put first or second. They are going to be matched against different opposing lines anyways and Kane never faces other teams top scoring lines.

There is plenty of cap space to add to it. I personally don't see him getting McDavid money but that's fine.
Kruger is only part of it to get more value out of the deal.

There is absolutely no way Anisimov's value is equal to Kruger's. I think Toronto would be interested in Murphy but some salary might have to come back, there have been multiple trades on here with Gardiner coming back to Chicago and a draft pick going back to Toronto along with Murphy.
