I like the Idea, but that would never happen! Players in the league are looking for stability. By signing a 1-year deal, you can potentially compromise your entire career, especially at JVR age.

What if he gets a career ending injury? Would the Leafs still sign him? Not a chance. JVR would lose 12 Million.

This is just one of many examples. There are a lot of moving parts.

That is a hell of a lot of money to pay a player that played 4th line minutes, with the season on the line, in the playoffs.

Here's the problem. The Leafs have an opportunity this summer to improve their deficiencies and take a step forward. Bringing back the same guys doesn't accomplish anything except more of the same. Sub par defensive play and another 1st round exit.

The forwards are weak and they don't take care of their own zone. JVR and Bozak are the 2 worst, let them walk. Komarov has been sliding down a hill for years and regardless of how we feel about his intangibles, it's time to move on.

Find some players that can actually help.
