How could you possibly expect Thomas to be 1C his rookie year? I know he's good but he isn't McDavid.

He's going to play in the top 6. Looking at that lineup, although I've listed that line first, are you going to argue that the "second" line is going to get less 5v5 minutes?
Speaking of which, I don't have Thomas on *any* of the special teams. I think, playing with such exceptional linemates, he'll do just fine.

He may very well do fine, but any NHL coach would be insane to start a rookie C on line 1. It just doesn't happen.

MTL would only trade Patches to get younger. If the main piece is Steen, they'd be better off keeping Patches and working on an extension.

If Hoffman is worth Thompson and a 1st, you're way too short on EK. Whoever pursues him will want to extend him, so I don't think his market will be typical of a rental... he'll get a haul and the team that gives it up will sign him to a fat extension.

Expecting to get the better of a pick swap in a Drai-Parayko trade is wishful thinking in my opinion. This team would be really really good but I don't see it as a possibility. Can't buy out Bouwmeester. I'm still not convinced that it will cost us to get rid of Sobotka - he's no Lehtera. You didn't sign Fabbri?
