1st round pick, 2 mediocre 2nd rounders and a 33 yo 3rd/4th line center for a 32 yo productive 2nd C? This seems like a bad trade for both sides. NJD are giving away too many assets whilst Wild do not get much value in return. Clearing 750k in cap-space is better than nothing, but it surely doesn't have the value of losing 42 goals.
The reason for a trade (opens spot in top 9 for JEE) is also quite strange for me. Given Granlund and Coyle are usually playing wings, only first 2 centre spots were preoccupied last season (Staal and Koivu). The 3rd line position was up for grabs and JEE failed to get it in competition of Cullen, Ennis or Winnik (3 awfully average players). And even though I am not a huge fan of B Boyle, he's better than all 3 of those. So I don't see this reason as a very valid one.
Also the RFA signings are bit too pricey for Dumba and bit too cheap and short for Zucker.
To not sound overly negative, I value the idea of trading Staal for assets, but I just don't see this as a good enough trade.

You’re right about the value, but my thought process comes from the Wild not being able to resign him next year, and they can get something for him. Not saying the trade would happen in the offseason, but by the time Minnesota gets their use out of him.

Granlund hasn't played center in more than 2 years. Move him to RW (where hes' been since early 2016) and you have an opening in the top 9 for JEE. No trade needed.

Then what do you do with Coyle and Kunin? I guess maybe Coyle would’ve been the better trade option.
