Seems like a good trade. Helps Dallas compete next year and Vancouver get another solid prospect into their system.

Vancouver gladly accepts. Dallas wouldn't even have to retain any salary on Spezza with that package

Do you think DAL wouldn't have to retain with just the 1st or would the 2nd have to be included?

Personally I don't think the 2nd would have to be included for Vancouver to take on Spezza's full contract since they have cap room. I know Gurianov was a former first round pick and can see his stats online, however I do not have first hand knowledge on how Vancouver/ Dallas views him as a prospect anymore. I would look at the deal in two parts.. I think Gurianov, 13th overall and cap dump is more then fair value for Tanev... and most fans on this cite would say thats an overpay, although Jim Benning will be looking for a similar package to move Tanev. Essentially depends how high Dallas is on Nilson. If they are high on him then a second would be music to Vancouver's ears, but probably more realistically a 3rd or 4th.

Very good trade for both sides, but you may not have to throw in the second, it depends on how Van values Nillson
